Westfair Fish & Chips : Westport, CT

Being in landlocked Atlanta, it's been awhile since we've had fried whole belly clams, so we stopped by Westfair Fish & Chips in hopes of having some scrumptious fried goodness.

We did have a bit of difficulty finding the place.  For those of you, who are unfamiliar with where it is, like we were, it's nestled behind the Westfair Center.

It's a tiny place, fitting two or three tiny tables and the interior has the feel of a seafood shack.

As for the food, well, it was decent, but nothing that really bowled us over.

Lobster Bisque
A very creamy, almost buttery bisque, but unfortunately rather light on the actual lobster flavor.  Had you blindfolded me and had me taste it, I doubt that I could tell you that it was a lobster bisque.

Mussels in garlic & butter
Can't really go wrong with this. Fresh mussels and some butter.

Fried Whole Belly Clams
Decent.  Definitely a strong clam flavor - but no burst of belly juices in mouth, instead the texture of the bellies was a bit on the pasty side.  Relatively light breading.
