Pupuseria & Taqueria La International : Forest Park

(Meal from early 2011)

We were in the area, checking out Scott's Antique market (we weren't so thrilled about) and decided to try out Pupuseria, since it was close by.

Tacos
Decent.  The fresh tortillas were probably the best part.  They tasted like the daily made tortillas available at grocery stores (such as Buford Highway Farmer's Market), but were fresh nonetheless.  The meat was okay. At times, I encountered a crunch in the meat, which I was unsure was purposeful or just overcooking certain pieces.

Chicken Mole
Okay.  The sauce was just overwhelmed by the ancho chile, both in flavor and strangely in texture: the sauce was came off as dry.  The chicken was pretty decently cooked however.

Pupusa
Nicely cooked.  But even with the sauce, the flavor came off more as a staple side, like rice or bread.

This certainly was not bad for just being in the area and randomly stopping by, but I'm not sure I would return.
