Ming's BBQ is a Cantonese noodle restaurant in the same plaza where the Super 88 used to be. For those of you in cities with a proper Chinatown, it's one of those places that has barbecue duck and pork hanging in the window and noodle soups. (ex. Sang Kee in Philly or Big Wong in NY)
The short story is to stick to their noodles or rice porridges. Also, their actual roast duck (烤鴨) and roast pork (叉燒) are nice renditions. Their more entree dishes were only so-so.
Roast Duck Wonton Noodles (烤鴨混沌面)
Good broth, nicely cooked noodles, seemingly home-made wontons and a duck that has a subtle smoked flavor. How could we have missed this place for so long?
Pretty ncie - more on the viscous side, with a good amount of ginger, but plenty of pi dan and boneless pork.
Fried dough (油條)
Not piping hot off the deep-fryer, but it can't have been sitting out that long and not too oily to boot.
Hong Kong Vegetable Soup (香港蔬菜湯)
A nice (I suspect really easy to make) soup. Broccoli, mushrooms and carrots cooked in their noodle broth, which itself is great to begin with.
Salt & Pepper Squid (椒鹽魷魚)
Ok, has a saltier and more hot pepper flavor. It's hard not to compare to the much, much better version at New Paradise. I'd skip this.
Beef Rice Noodles (石頭牛河)
I misordered, meaning to get the dry fried noodles (乾炒牛河) instead. Thsi was not bad - the beef was tender and everything was piping hot, but somehow it came across as a bit fast foodish (something about the sauce seemed cheap for some reason.)Oh, and here's a picture of some of their specials:
As mentioned previously, I would Ming's BBQ renditions of their noodles soups, barbecue meats and rice porridges are really solid. If you stick to those, you'll have a good meal.
