Mercato di Mezzo : Bologna, Italy

And on to Bologna, our last and most anticipated destination of our Italy trip.  Bologna may not be a common tourist destination, but for foodies, as the capital of the Emilia-Romagna region, it's a must-stop (Even more hardcore foodies strongly recommend hitting up the smaller towns around Emilia Romagna, which unfortunately we did not have the time to do).

Our first stop after arriving in town (and checking in with our host) was to hit up Mercato di Mezzo, an block of a few streets that sells fruits, vegetables, cheese, cured meats and seafood.

Ok, not the market, but it was on our way there.  These are the Towers of Bologna
The market spans a few streets and is a cluster of small shops, hocking their speciality food areas, both indoors and outdoors.

I think know that my love for a city is proportional to their food market scene, so I had a good feeling for Bologna, once we visited here.
