Rosco's Big Dogs
24 Temple Street
Hartford, CT 06103

Kind of eh on everything. The hot dog was okay, although the toasted bun was nothing inspirational. The sauteed onions that I added on top were rather greasily disgusting. They gave a fairly large portion of Belgian fries and it was nice that I could actually taste the potato, but some were burnt. All in all, this reminded me of Spike's Hot Dogs in Boston, but was slightly better.
All in all, this place fails to come even close to my hot dog standard: White Hut in West Springfield, MA

Intriguing, Rosco's gets some love on chowhound's Best hot dog in CT thread. I'll have to check it out again to see whether I just hit a bad day.

Koi Kei Bakery

Koi Kei is another bakery that is well known in Hong Kong (Koi Kei is Macau-based) that makes egg rolls, cookies and other snacks/candies. Unlike the Kee-wah bakery (Website), it doesn't yet have locations in the U.S. However, some of its snacks can be found in Asian supermarkets (so far, I've only seen them in the LA area, but I haven't really been looking.) I just bought a can of their almond cookies while I was in LA and they're quite delicious.

My friend, a local of LA, brought me to Saketini, which is owned and (sometimes) personally waited on by the actor, Sang Kang. This was definitely a very nice place to wind down my trip to LA.
We split the Spicy Scallop Bomb appetizer, which was quite nice. The scallops were well done, tenderly cooked and tastefully flavored.
I had the Jumbo Lava Cod, black cod prepared over a lava rock and it was delicious. The cod had a wonderful sweet, crunchy outside, while the inside was beautifully tender. This is the way a fish is supposed to taste. The accompanying vegetables and wasabi, potatos were decent, nothing really to write home about, but were good enough not to distract from the cod.
I should mention the presentation of the dishes was also quite well done. If you poke around the website, you'll be able to see pictures of the dishes. The inside is a little small, but it's cozy and kind of nice to hear the kitchen sounds in the background.
Would definitely recommend and would love to visit again soon.

No pictures, didn't have my camera. Had a single charburger, fries and a strawberry shake. All in all, not bad. Nothing mind-blowing, but a decent burger meal.

This was a sushi buffet. So far as buffets go, this is pretty good. There is a $16 weekday lunch special, which is a good deal for sushi. The fish is surprisingly fresh, comparable with an ordinary dedicated non-buffet sushi place. I'm really the wrong person for buffets (can't quite push myself to stuff myself to make it worthwhile), but for the price and quality here, I didn't do too badly.

In the same plaza as the New Capital Seafood Dimsum place. This is a Chinese chain that my Dad likes to visit. It's more geared to barbeque and cheaper, simple food. But not a bad place to go.
Ngow Lam Meen - Beef tendon noodles

Dow mew - A type of vegetable

Jiu Yeam Yu - Salty, peppery fish
